What we collect

Using the map, running searches, and viewing parcel data requires nothing from you: no sign-up, no account, no personal information.

Outside of a paid parcel report (covered below), the only thing we collect is an email address, and only if you voluntarily submit one to join our weekly parcel alerts. We don't ask for your name, phone number, address, or any other personal detail, just the email you type in.

How we use it

If you sign up for alerts, we use your email for exactly one purpose: sending you a weekly summary of newly identified high-opportunity parcels. That's it.

We never sell, rent, or share your email address with any third party, advertiser, or data broker, for any reason.

Data sources

The parcel, zoning, and property data shown on the map comes from public New York City and New York State open data sources: zoning maps, PLUTO, ACRIS, HPD, and similar municipal datasets. This is public information about properties, not about you. We do not combine it with anything that identifies who is viewing the map.

Cookies & analytics

We store your light/dark theme choice in your browser's local storage. It stays on your device and is never sent to us.

We use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and never identifies you individually, and PostHog to understand which pages and features are used, so we can improve the site. We do not run ad trackers, third-party advertising pixels, or sell data to anyone.

By default, for every visitor, PostHog counts page views and product events without a cookie, without local storage, and without your IP address: each event is tied to a one-way hashed id that can't be reversed back to you. Nothing is stored on your device for this.

If you're visiting from outside the EU, UK, or Switzerland, we also turn on cookie-based tracking by default, which lets us recognize you across visits; you can turn it off any time from the "Cookie settings" link in the footer, or by clearing your browser's site data for nyrezone.com. If you're visiting from the EU, UK, or Switzerland, that cookie-based tracking stays off until you accept the cookie notice. Either way, if your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we treat that as a decline and cookie-based tracking stays off. Declining, or never opting in, never turns off the anonymous, cookie- free counting described above.

Parcel reports and payments

A parcel report costs $49 and is paid through Stripe Checkout on Stripe's own pages. Your card number never reaches our servers. Stripe collects your payment details and email address under its own privacy policy and sends you the receipt.

What we receive from Stripe is the payment status and the parcel (BBL) you bought, which is what unlocks your report. We keep no order database of our own. When you open a report, we check the payment with Stripe each time using the session id in the link, so keep that link private.

Unsubscribe

Every alert email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also opt out at any time by replying to any of our emails and asking to be removed, no explanation needed, and it takes effect immediately.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and revise the effective date above. We won't make changes that expand how we use your email without also giving you a clear way to opt out.
